In 2011, the IAFF created the IAFF Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, to combine its five worthy charities into one dynamic nonprofit.
- Burn Fund
- Disaster Relief Fund
- Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial Fund
- John P. Redmond Fund
- W.H. “Howie” McClennan Scholarship Fund
These charitable funds directly benefit fire fighters and their families throughout the United States and Canada. All the funds are governed by a five-member board of directors chaired by IAFF General President Harold A. Schaitberger.
With a mission to “help those who help others,” the IAFF Foundation is dedicated to protecting and assisting IAFF members who put their lives on the line to save others, as well as the communities they serve.
Many times, while performing their dangerous work, IAFF members across the United States and Canada need help of their own. The IAFF Foundation provides service, assistance, training, education and healing to members and their families in their time of need.
As the International Association of Fire Fighters approaches a century of service in 2018, a constant has been our charitable efforts. Just as our members are dedicated to saving lives and property, the job of the IAFF is to protect and provide support to our members as they do their duties.
